Why this matters

The products ERAM supplies sit inside a web of safety, environmental and efficiency regulation. Specifying and installing compliant equipment protects your project, your warranty, and the people who use the building. This center summarises the key areas; it is informational and does not replace professional or legal advice.

Refrigerant safety — EN 378

EN 378 governs refrigerating systems and heat pumps, including refrigerant charge limits relative to occupied space. It is central to specifying air conditioning safely in hotels, hospitals, offices and homes — and a key reason hybrid and water-side systems are chosen for certain occupied spaces. See our technical briefing on hybrid VRF and EN 378.

F-Gas and the refrigerant phase-down

F-Gas regulation drives the phase-down of high-GWP refrigerants and imposes certification, record-keeping and leak-checking duties on those who handle refrigerants. It shapes which equipment is sensible to specify today (e.g. R32, R290) and who may legally install and service it.

Electrical safety and installation standards

Electrical installations must meet current wiring and protection standards, with appropriate circuit protection, earthing and inspection. These standards determine the protective devices and cabling you select for residential, commercial and industrial work.

Energy efficiency and ecodesign

Energy-efficiency labelling (SEER/SCOP and energy classes) and ecodesign requirements influence which products may be sold and guide buyers toward lower lifecycle cost. Reading these ratings correctly is essential for specifying on total cost of ownership rather than purchase price.

Personal protective equipment (PPE)

PPE is classified by protection level and must be appropriate to the hazard. Correct selection and certification matter for both worker safety and regulatory compliance on site.

Kosovo and regional context

ERAM operates in Kosovo and the Western Balkans, where national regulation increasingly aligns with EU standards. Where Kosovo-specific rules apply (for example, data protection under Law 06/L-082, covered in our Data Protection notice), we note them.
